Elbow Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the main island of Bermuda. Located on the southern (Atlantic Ocean) coast of Paget Parish, it is also home to one of Bermuda's most famous resorts, the Elbow Beach Hotel. Part of the beach is privately owned by the hotel for use by its guests; there is public access to the rest of the beach. Named because its gentle curve bears a similarity to an elbow, it’s one of the closest beaches to Hamilton and is divided into two sections. The eastern section has extensive facilities reserved for the use of guests of the Elbow Beach hotel, whilst the area to the west is public with fewer amenities. Guests of the hotel access their section directly, whilst the public should take Tribe Road which begins at the sharp bend on South Road just west of the Elbow Beach hotel entrance. Elbow Beach can be found astride the southern coastline of Bermuda. The island of Bermuda is actually made up of several islands clustered together, and Hamilton is located on the main island of the chain. Visitors will discover there are plenty of advantages to visiting a beach that isn't filled with other beach-goers, like having a quiet stretch of sand to enjoy for yourself and Elbow Beach offers just that. Elbow Beach, located south of Hamilton, stretches for nearly a mile and is bordered by hotels. The pink sands lead down to calm, reef-protected water.
